The Japanese XAFS Society (JXS) was established in January 1., 2001, for scientific and technical progress and development of X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) spectroscopy.

to organize other workshops and educational symposiums,
to communicate with related societies and institutes, especially The International XAFS Society (IXAS),
to exchange information, and to collaborate,
and other tasks to meet our purposes.

We have held Japan XAFS conference every year which began already in 1998.
